I was thinking about the economics of getting a home charger installed, I think they cost around £380 to get one installed.
My electric costs 15p/kw and I drive to a 50kw charging station near me 5 away which charges around 25p kw.
Doing quick calculations, the costs extra using the higher rate it only come to around £70 per year (it would take 5 years to pay it off so to speak If I installed one).
Was it worth getting charge point installed ??
Is it worth getting a home charge point installed ?

For me a home charging point is not only about money it about the convenience.
No more waiting for a couple of hours at a charging point to fill up.
Also look at better electricity rates (some people can get as low as 3p/KwH).
