Re: Is it normal to lose some range in hot weather ?

hi manchacienda.

This is normal as the car will use battery power to cool itself in extereme heat. If your car only has a small battery
then you will notice it more (less so on cars with bigger batterys)!

ciao.

Re: Car Insurance question

The car dealer should have trade plates. There may be restrictions on age and you will need a full license to test drive using their insurance.

The battery tech inside an electric car is better than what you have in a cellphone. They have better cells and they run much cooler.

Most electric cars seem to degrade at 100k miles by around 10% (with the exception of Nissans which are worse).

The instant torque is fantastic !

As for the cost factor it currently it takes years to pay off the price difference compared to a petrol engine. I can imagine when the costs are the same the governments will think of a way to tax us.

Some things I can think of at the top of my head, consumables: Tyres, Wipers, Brake Pads, Air filters.

Fluids: Gearbox oils, Battery Coolant.

Yeah might I suggest Renault Zoe E-Tech electric range. I heard the Zoes were sold with a battery lease, so you paid a extra to Renault for the battery with a better warranty and guarantee against battery degradation.

Right my first post lol

Hyundai Ioniq EVs are great cars for newbies. They have loads of space and are pretty cheap used.
