This is normal as the car will use battery power to cool itself in extereme heat. If your car only has a small battery
then you will notice it more (less so on cars with bigger batterys)!

The car dealer should have trade plates. There may be restrictions on age and you will need a full license to test drive using their insurance.

The battery tech inside an electric car is better than what you have in a cellphone. They have better cells and they run much cooler.
Most electric cars seem to degrade at 100k miles by around 10% (with the exception of Nissans which are worse).

As for the cost factor it currently it takes years to pay off the price difference compared to a petrol engine. I can imagine when the costs are the same the governments will think of a way to tax us.

Some things I can think of at the top of my head, consumables: Tyres, Wipers, Brake Pads, Air filters.
Fluids: Gearbox oils, Battery Coolant.

Yeah might I suggest Renault Zoe E-Tech electric range. I heard the Zoes were sold with a battery lease, so you paid a extra to Renault for the battery with a better warranty and guarantee against battery degradation.
